Disc Golf - Handicapped League Rules

  1. This is a continuous league that runs 52 weeks a year. Each week ends on Monday at 3 PM central time.

  2. Play is at Quail Ridge, and depending on which league you are in, you will play from the Red, White or Blue tees. The RHL plays from the Red tees.

  3. Players are on their honor to play with at least one other qualifying or qualified member and to keep correct scores hole by hole.

  4. Players fall into one of these three categories:
    1. "Q" In the process of qualifying - has less than 9 rounds recorded. Nine qualifying rounds are necessary to establish an initial handicap (average for each hole) and to build point totals needed to compete in league play. To allow for faster qualifying, you play 5 rounds, then 3 of those rounds will be re-used by kicking out the best and worst and using the other 3 over again for 6-8, then you play one more for the 9th which will give you the necessary initial handicap and enough point totals needed to compete in league play. During your qualifying period you may play as often and as many qualifying rounds as you desire until you have your nine. These must be played in a group with at least one other qualifying or qualified member. During qualifying rounds, you will be individually matched against PAR (54) for establishing your handicap and for picking up your basic point totals.
    2. "L" Has 9 or more rounds recorded (qualified) but has not paid in advance for the particular week of competition. This person is not eligible to win even if a round is recorded.
    3. "E" Has 9 or more rounds recorded and has paid in advance for the particular week of competition. This person is eligible to win if a round is recorded.

  5. The cost is $10 for 10 weeks of eligible competition and must be paid in advance of any particular week of competition in which player is eligible to win. Your membership fee of $10 will be applied to the prize money purse at the rate of $1 per week for 10 consecutive weeks starting the next week after you complete your qualifying rounds or when your payment is received, whichever comes last. Membership fees collected in advance from players that fail to qualify within 26 weeks of date paid will be refunded. Renewal memberships (also $10 for 10 weeks) will be applied as above for 10 consecutive weeks starting the next week after payment received. A member may interrupt the 'consecutiveness' of the ten weeks for any reason by requesting specific week(s) to be excluded from league play. This request must be made on the comment board at least 15 days prior to the week(s) to be excluded. The membership period will merely be extended so the player will not forfeit any weeks of league play.

  6. You may start your qualifying process at any time. After you are qualified, you may drop out for a while and re-join again later. It all depends on whether you are paid or not for your weeks of competition.

    POSTING OF SCORES

Scores are to posted with one line for each member with the member's name and the 18 scores plus the total as per example shown below. No other information is required or desired in the posting. Scores will be processed in the order in which they come in.
    ERIC TWEDELL,2,3,3,4,3,2,3,4,2,3,3,2,3,4,3,3,3,2,52
    CHRIS KINSELLA,3,3,3,3,3,2,3,3,3,4,3,3,3,3,2,3,3,3,53
    MARK KANE,2,2,3,3,5,3,4,4,2,4,2,2,3,6,2,3,3,2,55
    RICK MAASSEN,3,4,4,3,3,3,5,5,3,3,3,3,3,3,2,3,3,4,60

Everything below applies to those that are qualified and eligible for league play

  7. As a qualified member you may play with and witness one or more qualifying rounds and have the option of posting or not posting your score for league play. This option is only available if no other qualified members are in the group. If you take the option of not posting your score, merely indicate that you were a witness.

  8. You may play your league round for each week at any time prior to the cut-off (3 PM Monday) as long as you play in a group with at least one other qualifying or qualified member. If multiple rounds are posted for an "E" person during the week, the first round posted with at least one other "E" person will be used. If no rounds were posted with another "E" person then the first round posted with other qualified or qualifying persons will be used.

  9. Points you earn for league rounds during a week are based on "virtual matches". Therefore the actual member(s) that you play your round with will not necessarily be the same member you get 'virtually matched' against for earning points.

  10. After all the league round scores are received for the week, they will be put in order as follows:
    • Highest to lowest Points Going In (PGI); those from the previous 9 rounds, then if ties:
    • Lowest to highest score of current round, then if ties:
    • Alphabetically by first then last name.

  11. Members are then paired up to make virtual matches by four-somes as many as possible until the remainder is 5, 3, or 2. When 5 a final three-some and a two-some. If 3 or 2, then a three-some or two-some respectively.

  12. The virtual matches will be calculated and points for the week will be awarded and posted. The MEMBER with the highest total points for the most recent ten rounds (assuming he/she had scores posted for the week) will be awarded an amount equal to $1.00 per MEMBER that paid for the week.

  13. If no available score has been posted for that week prior to the cut-off of 3:00 PM Monday he/she will not be eligible for first place winnings even though his/her point total may be higher.

  14. If less than two scores are available for the week (we need at least one virtual match), then the amount that would have been paid out to the winner will be added to the next weeks amount.

  15. If we have ties for first place the purse for that week will be divided by the number of first place winners, but rounded down to the nearest dollar with the remainder carried over to the next week. Lets say the purse for the week is $10 and there are three tied for first. Each would get $3 and the extra dollar would be added to next week's purse.
