To My Husband

I can meet the disappointments

Let trials vex me sore

If only I can be with you

When day is o’er.

I can toil until I falter

From dawn ‘til setting sun

If only I can feel your arms

When day is done.

I can tread the thorns or roses

Whichever be my way

If only we can view the stars

At close of day.

I can bear all the crosses

Let crowns and glories wait

If together we may enter

The Golden Gates.
